December 17, 2004 -- A fully portable heat gun kit which passed the Mil-Std-810 (511.4) Explosive Atmosphere for N-Hexane and JP-5 Aviation Fuel, making it effective for various types of battle damage repairs, is being introduced by Malcom Hot Air Systems of Portsmouth, Rhode Island.

The Malcom MCH-100 Portable Battery Powered Heat Gun Kit is designed for installing heat shrinkable tubing, soldering and welding plastic parts in remote locations. Ideally suited for battle damage repairs, this battery powered heat gun can be used in and around fueled aircraft, ships and other vehicles where N-Hexane, JP-5 jet fuel or equivalent vapors are present.

Featuring interchangeable heating elements from 200 to 400 watts and a wide variety of nozzles for many applications, the Malcom MCH-100 Portable Battery Powered Heat Gun can reach temperatures of up to 1,100 degrees F has a built-in motor with a fan to provide 2.66 CFM air flow. The gun weighs less than a pound and the 48V rechargeable battery pack is only 10 lbs.
